In a tough economy, the last thing we need are taxes that eliminate jobs and prevent new businesses from opening in South Carolina.

But a recent law—known as point of sale--- allows local governments to increase property taxes on homes, land and businesses when they are sold. Because of the unfair point of sale tax, some companies have said they will not relocate or open new businesses in South Carolina.

Most families across South Carolina support fair property tax laws, and don’t think local governments should charge higher property taxes when homes and businesses are sold.

Point of Sale is just not fair, and we need to fix this flawed law.
